Nite of Noise is ON! Hai has really pulled things together for us and I would like to applaud his tremendous efforts. Also, thanks again to Gary Lambert of BeReal, Equality Florida, Orlando Youth Alliance and the Orlando Science Center for their help, and the Watermark for publicizing Day of Silence and Nite of Noise on a super – tight deadline. We will be selling advance tickets, or the kids can pay at the door.
When: May 10th 6-10 pm (I know this is the same weekend as the leadership conference, but it couldn’t be helped.)
Where: Orlando Science Center, 3rd floor
Cost: $5
Activities: will include raffles, gaming, music, food, and simply letting the kids cut loose at the end of the school year in a safe environment.
What we need: VOLUNTEERS! They ARE teenagers, after all, so we will need as many volunteers as we can manipulate convince to come out and spend a night with the kids. Job Descriptions include Ticket Taker, Cashier, Punch bowl and food supervision, Tour Guides (if the kids want to tour the science center) and Chaperones.
What’s in it for me?: FREE admission to the Science Center, a great time with the kids, and warm fuzzies.
PLEASE e-mail either myself or Hai at haiduong1026@gmail.com or check the MySpace site http://youthequalityalliance.pbwiki.com for further updates. Please forward this to anyone who may be interested as well, we want to get the word out especially to kids in schools without GSA’s. Remember, we are Gay-Straight Alliances, and Nite of Noise is open to all LGBTQ youth and their straight allies as well.
